• The Award shall be named “Gaan-Saraswati Puraskar”, in the memory of late Gaan-Saraswati Padmavibhushan Kishori Amonkar.
  • The corpus of this Award shall be arranged by Dr. Arun N. Dravid, who was the first disciple of Gaan-Saraswati Kishori Amonkar.
  • It will be in the form of a cheque in the amount of Rs. One Lakh, and a citation.
  • A committee of experts chaired by Dr. Arun Dravid has been appointed to evaluate the qualifications of the nominees for the Award, and the selection of the Awardee by the committee shall be final.
  • This award will be normally given once a year. However, the Puraskar Committee reserves the right to skip one or more years due to unavoidable reasons.
  • The Award will be given to an accomplished Hindustani classical vocalist from among nominations to be received on all-India basis.
  • The nominee shall be a Resident Indian.
  • The nominee shall not have completed the age of 51 on or before 31st December of the year of the award.
  • Nominations shall be invited by advertising in social media. They are to be sent to the secretary of the Committee as per the procedure given elsewhere.
  • Nominations shall be accompanied by documents describing training and accomplishments of the nominee, previous awards received, international concert experience if any, etc., including proof of the age of the nominee. A recording of one or more Raagas sung by the nominee for at least half an hour shall also be submitted either as a CD or as an on-line link.
  • The award shall be given at a suitable public function in Mumbai, Pune or any other location, and the awardee shall be required to present a vocal recital of about two hours at the award ceremony. The awardee shall be reimbursed for expenses for travel, lodging and boarding for this event. Accompaniment shall be provided by the Award Committee.
